Sr. Network Engineer

Preferred Education
- Bachelors in computer networks/Science or relevant technical field
Area of Expertise
- Network operation experience in managing global networks
- Ability to work collaboratively with individuals locally and globally across multiple disciplines
- Installation, configuration and supporting network equipment including Routers, Switches, WLC, WAN accelerators, DNS, DHCP and NTP services through Infoblox,ISE cubes
- Deep working knowledge of networking technologies including Layer-2, Layer-3 protocols (STP, EIGRP, BGP, VXLAN/EVPN, ISIS)
- A solid understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks)
- Broad knowledge and experience in Switching and routing protocols like EIGRP, IS-IS, OSPF, HSRP, LACP, SSO, RPR and along with VLAN, STP, RSTP, VTP, MST protocols
- Knowledge of Tunnelling concepts – MPLS, GRE, IPSEC and VxLAN
- Demonstrate understanding of various core networking products from industry players
- Having any networking vendors certifications from Cisco & Arista is a Plus
- Having knowledge of Software Define Networks concepts is a plus
- Contribute to automation and provisioning of environments
- Bachelor’s in computer networks/Science or relevant technical field
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Prefer to have understanding/Exposure/Expertise in one or more areas
- Advanced Datacenter technologies- VPC, MC-LAG, VxLAN, EVPN
Key Responsibilities:
- Very good Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting of Network Connectivity
- Raising Trouble tickets with ISP’s and participating in trouble shooting calls along with ISP network engineers to resolve P2P & internet link issues
- Maintain pro-activeness on alerts/tasks by using tools like HP NNMI, Opsramp, Cisco Prime, NetScout, Livenx, and Net brain monitoring tools
- Recognize all CRITICAL creation alarms promptly and raise to TechOps group through chat/email/call
- Create tickets for the critical alerts which have been escalated to TechOps and update the ticket with the appropriate information
- Follow the procedure as per the wiki/instructions provided and check with the TechOps Team for any clarifications or doubts
- Configuring switches & Routers to maximize network efficiency and security
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Investigating faults in the network
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware & IOS releases
- Reporting network status to key stakeholders when business critical tickets raised by peer groups
- Interface with internal teams, customers, and partners
- Be a point of escalation from shift engineers and troubleshoot internal/external connectivity issues
- Provide resolution information and work with other teams to complete impact analysis where appropriate
- Drive the network incident, outages, and deep diving to find the root cause and prevention plan
- Create and define network operation best practices, documentation, and building MOP, SOP for training Juniors
- A Positive “can do” attitude with the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas and see them to fruition
